Reasons to retreat at Swan Cottage

My vision for retreating at Swan is based upon 3 simple concepts:

  1. Ashram: meaning safe sanctuary space
  2. Saraswati: Feminine Goddess/Archetype for wisdom, peace, learning, education, the Arts (music, writing etc), culture and knowledge. Her animal consort is The Swan
  3. Svadhaya: meaning self-study, personal awareness and spiritual discipline/development

As we live in such busy, noisy worlds, it is no wonder our bodies can feel so overwhelmed and confused with choices to be made. Giving self ‘time-out’ to re-calibrate and decompress from all the static picked up in multiple ways (including using social media, prolonged news watching and engaging with distractions like TV and unhelpful gossip) is a must towards regaining health and well-being.

Swan Cottage offers a wonderful space to reconnect with simplicity, safety, beauty and wonderment for the natural world we live in. All healing potential is there if we allow ourselves to enter into this consciousness.

Swan Cottage is a great inclusive space for:

  • holiday and retreating into fell walking, cycling, bird watching, writing for well-being/journalling, creative writing
  • small groups spending quality time talking, sharing and communing
  • counselling peer groups/supervision
  • faith groups

There is space for all….
